  1. Back in the saddle
I find think Emily is making a point about the car and want the girls to be a fed of it as she is .

Margin stuff ?? Did you guys write in books coz I know I sure did not. I would have been miffed if anyone did that to one of my books ...
Then Dean arrive and how more unwelcoming can Rory be ?? Surprised that Dean sat down at all !

YEY - Brad is back. Poor guy getting Paris on the first day.

Susie ?? Susie ?? Poor Sukie ... Why is she not baking the invites as cookies ??

Michelle is so excited about his Mum's visit...

I like that its Rory asking about school finally has Emily asking Richard what is he doing !!!!

    Poor Lane ... Sales !!

Rory is avoiding Dean ... I am now thinking "poor Dean"
Then all those phone calls and then washing the car.

I love that once Richard does start to help then gets sucked into the whole thing ! As ever Paris is so OTT. BUT why does Paris ask Richard for the "3rd year projections" when she produced the document and how fast did the pigeon sisters (as Paris called them) have a marketing strategy that fast !??!

OMG - love that Emily nails Lorelai about climbing out a window.

I seem to have said "poor. ....." a lot. Perhaps should have been in the title.
But then we would not have had to wait to the end to learn it was about Richard getting back in the saddle.

My final poor Dean when Lorelai finds him on the front steps and he says "She likes Jess doesn't she" ... For me the first time I have not found him annoying for a while.

  2. This week we have clingy Dean - once again, he had the trait most helpful for the plot. I felt bad for him. It's long overdue for him to realize Rory's feelings for Jess, but I thought the surrounding circumstances didn't support that conclusion. She's been guilty of choosing Jess over Dean before, but she didn't do that this episode; she just chose homework and Lane over him. If he had said "She's doesn't love *me* anymore," that would have been in line with the events of the episode. But after 15 weeks of this triangle setup, it's high time for the writers to move things along. I do have a theory: after Lorelai dropped Rory off at Lane's, I bet she snuck over to Luke's to see Jess instead. So I would have liked to see a couple more dots connected, but okay.

I still don't buy Lorelai's fever dream that Dean is a great guy, but I enjoyed their conversation at the kitchen table. Lorelai has a natural talent for spinning those tough teen lessons in ways that are non-threatening. Her one-on-one scenes with Rory's friends are usually ones where she stops being so zany and offers heartfelt advice, and I always love seeing that flip side to her character.

Poor Michel. Up until his outburst at Lorelai, I like to think that his love fest with his mom was the show exaggerating what Lorelai and Rory look like to everyone else. Too bad their relationship isn't as deep as the Gilmore girls', though.

My favorite moment just might be Sookie hurling her bowl of meringue over her shoulder. And I want one of those Style Aid kits.

  3. I like the omelet bit in the diner, even bringing Dean into it without him knowing. lol. Brad is back! Paris is just so great, I like her mocking Brads mom. Also Madeline pointing at Brad saying he looks like he should know how to build a robot and Louise asking if he's tried, that was funny. Rory's working at the Inn again. I almost forgot she did that.

Lanes back! I like her panicking about being a sales man, especially since her mom sells furniture, and she doesn't want to be like her mom. So we can see the distancing between Rory and Dean in this episode. Every time he shows up, she doesn't really seem happy to see him. And when he asks her to come to his game, it's clear that she just doesn't want to.
I like seeing Richard get involved with the Rory's group. Also the bit with Michele and his mom, and how he had been not telling her the whole truth and now shes a mother to him, was funny.

Oh and the 7 wonders of the ancient world are:
    The Great Pyramid of Giza
    Hanging Gardens of Babylon
    Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
    Statue of Zues at Olympia
    Mausoluem at Halicarnassus
    Colussus of Rhodes
    Lighthouse of Alexandria (not library)

  4. At first I thought it was weird to have Dean's line about Rory liking Jess at the end of an episode where we don't even see Jess. But then I thought about it and I kinda like it now. In Dean's mind, Jess is the sole reason for his relationship problems with Rory. He doesn't get that he himself is driving Rory away with his behaviour. To have Dean's line now at the end of this particular episode, in a way underlines the fact that, even if she likes Jess, he's not the only reason Rory is pulling away from Dean and she's not ditching Dean to spend time with Jess instead. You could probably read her plan at the end to go to Luke's with Lane as an excuse to see Jess but that's not the way I read that scene and I don't think that's what Rory is doing, at least not conciously. We also haven't heard what Lane thinks of Jess, have we?

I'm still irritated by Lorelai's insistence that Dean is such a great guy and the way she's rooting for him and Rory to be together. Sure, she hasn't seen Dean be terrible as many times as the audience has but she has to know about at least some of these instances. It just doesn't make sense.

  5. Since everyone enjoys Michel's mother so much, here's another tidbit: the same actress played Aunt Vivian on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. And she's not French, she's from Chicago!
