  1. ... so, that happened. Chris, honey, you shouldn't have to convice a person to marry you. That answer should be a resounding yes. Now that I say that, I am reminded of Lorelai's ultimatum to Luke, though that was a completely different situation of course.
Even apart from the ending, I didn't enjoy most of the Paris stuff. It's so repetitive and boring, interrupted only by a few cute moments between Lorelai and Chris, mostly when they're reminiscing about their youth. I recently watched Dear Emily and Richard again and though they did talk about sleeping on park benches there, that was only the plan for Chris, because Lorelai says that she would never. And what do the writers think Paris, or Europe in general, is like? It's fricking Paris. I'm pretty sure you can find something to eat 24/7 there. So the whole premise of this storyline is completely ridiculous. And because I was already annoyed, I noticed that clocks in Europe must run really differently than in the US: they wake up at 4 am, try to sleep again, walk around Paris looking for food, go back to the hotel, have sex, shower and get ready and then go to the restaurant at 5 am. That is quite the program to complete in one hour.

On the other hand, I really liked Rory's storyline. I will probably get back to this again, but I last watched season 7 two years ago, before A year in the life was released, when I had just finished university and was trying and trying, writing applications and going to interviews, and I just could not find a job. So I was really really feeling Rory's conflict and her breakdown here. Especially for a character like Rory, who has always had plans and goals to work towards, it would be very scary that this time is ending and she can't say what will happen next. No matter how much you plan and how hard you work, in the end it's unpredictable. Now that we are nearing Rory's graduation, I am really excited to see what happens and how the show and Rory herself handles it.

    Let's not talk about Marty.

One comment on your last episode, even if it was forever ago: I like that your desciption of Top Gun kinda makes it sound like a rom com about the love between two naval pilots called Goose and Maverick. I would have enjoyed that movie much more.
