  1. I hate what they're doing to Lane. This episode is piling on too much. The honeymoon was an absolute disaster, she had sex once and it was terrible and now she's pregnant when she doesn't want to be. One of these things alone would have maybe worked, if the other two had been the opposite of what they are. But as it is, it's just too much. Lane's speech about the whole conspiracy around sex being sexy is quite fun, if also sad at the same time. Gilmore Girls is a weirdly sexless show to me in a way. So it always feels a little surprsing when they start talking about it or when there's a scene. But I loved Rory and Lane talking about it here. We haven't seen that much of their friendship lately.
It makes a lot of sense that after growing up with Mrs. Kim as a mother and their talk before Lane's wedding, that Lane would be apprensive or afraid of having sex, that she would be expecting it to be not fun and that the terrible first time could turn her off of it completely. But I have questions about Zack here. We know he has experience. He probably wasn't feeling too keen on doing it again on their honeymoon when he had that parasite (how many times do they say parasite during these scenes?) but has Lane run her idea of a sexless marriage past him? I think he would also maybe suggest trying again in a bed first. Is this another couple that will have more trouble communicating?
Also, this is at least the third accidental and unwanted pregnangcy on this show (SPOILER and not even the last) and the writers seriously need to come up with a new idea. Though at least this one is not the most unbeliavable. That one would still be Sherry.

I still hate Luke, or I hate him again, he wasn't entirely hateable last episode. What he says to Lorelai during their first encounter on the street is so so cruel. I have seen this many times but I was still shocked when he said that she was the one who proposed in the first place. And even though their meeting in the supermarked appears nicer on first glance, it's really not. It feels like Luke is trying to convince himself that they never fit together and that he's not good enough for her and doesn't belong in her world, Chris does. Yes, that was a problem for them and I can believe that Luke would still be a little insecure about that. But Lorelai has made it very clear that she doesn't want to live in the Gilmores' world, she wants to be part of his. And as she put it so well last week, he was not letting her, and that was the reason for their break up this time. I'm not sure if Luke doesn't see what he did wrong or if he doesn't want to accept it, but he refuses to take any blame. But seriously, if Liz has the more functional relationship than you and is teaching you about the importance of communication, you should really think hard about your life choices.

One moment early on that brought me really back to the early years was Rory talking about all the things she wanted to see in Asia. She reminded me so much of old Rory there.

I noticed that there were a lot of close ups in this episode, especially during conversations, and at least two very noticeably super wide shots, Luke and Lorelai on the street and then later in the supermarket aisle, that they didn't really do that much in the earlier seasons. I think that is one reason why this season sometimes has a different feel to it. It's like you notice something is different, but you can't exactly put your finger on what it.
