  1. This didn't feel all that different than previous seasons which isn't all too suprising because the producers and writers who took over aren't completely new to Gilmore Girls either. I think most or maybe even all of them have worked on the show before.

I like that they don't drag the Luke/Lorelai break up out. I can imagine a different version of this where they get back together and then three episodes later Luke finds out about Chris and drama ensues again. Even though I like Luke's speech, especially the part where he says his life isn't even real to him unless Lorelai is there and he's sharing it with her, I'm glad that Lorelai wasn't swayed by it. It's way too late for this. I love that Luke's quick acceptance of Lorelai proposal was brought up last week. I hadn't thought about how those two scenes mirror each other. The Luke we saw at the end of season 6 was definitely not that same Luke and not the Luke who told Lorelai he was all in on their first date. If he really was so confused about April and now suddenly isn't anymore or if he was using April and Anna as an excuse because he himself wasn't ready to truly commit to Lorelai, we'll never know. Both options are dumb when you compare them to previous Luke. Though the fact that Luke isn't sure you can be married by a sea captain, after having once been married by a sea captain himself, points to Luke having amnesia which would explain all of this.

I love the scene between Lorelai and Sookie early on. Lorelai's speech is really great and another great summation of the situation. And I love that Sookie accepts it without trying to convince her to maybe give Luke another chance but you can still see how sorry she is for her friend and that this didn't work out. It's some great acting in that scene.

Caesarception! Both Caesars are working at Luke's at the same time. I don't know if this has happened before but this is the first time I noticed it.

  2. Listening to season 6 recap now and have to stop everything to respond to Michaels comment. Found ASP’s account! ;) Or perhaps the Daniel Palladino account? Love Michaels comments always, loved this one.
