  1. I was also pretty meh on Logan and Rory the last few weeks, but I did love them here. I also loved seeing this side of Rory again, taking action. I just feel like maybe they threw Paris a little too far under the bus to have Rory (and Logan) look amazing. It's Paris, so her being crazy and over the top works and the bar for her becoming too much is pretty high, but for me the last scene when she comes out of her bunker and says "we did it", even though she clearly had no part in it anymore, takes it a touch too far for me.

Lorelai's side of the story made me really sad. She clearly doesn't like how Luke is handling things with keeping her and April apart, but she doesn't want to tell him and I think she is still trying to be supportive and lets him do what he thinks is best. Maybe she's afraid that if she says anything or pushes Luke, she's going to lose him. He already postponed the wedding and said *everything* was moving to fast. At least when Lorelai didn't want to set a wedding date when she was fighting with Rory, there was a clear point at which it would be set: when they had reconciled. But now everything is just kind of hanging in the air and who knows when Luke wants to talk about it and Lorelai isn't comfortable to do it either. I hate this storyline mostly because it feels so manufactured to stop Luke and Lorelai from being happy, even though nobody acts widely out of character (yet?) and the communication issue between Luke and Lorelai is nothing we haven't seen before. I'm just so over this coming up again and again.

Still not a fan of how Rory behaves towards the grandparents, but I do love how Lorelai handles it and the way she tells Emily and Richard. She thanks them for everything they've done and tries to be very clear that this isn't done to hurt them. And then she reinstates friday night dinner even though now there is no obligation for it anymore from any side. I also love when she tells Rory that things could have been different if she had made a different choice all those years ago and she doesn't want Rory to make the same mistake. Despite all their problems, there is still some regret over the way things turned out.
And then: the last 5 minutes. They're just brilliant and brilliantly executed. The fighting, the laughing, the stories, the same arguments they've been having for years being brought up again. It's everything this show is and what these relationships between all these characters are, wrapped into one amazing sequence. And it's a small moment but I like how they slipped Lorelai telling them about April in there, like no big deal, we don't need even more drama about this. I'm curious to see if we will see more of a reaction from them in the future or if this is it.
