  1. Upon rewatch of this episode I thought about something that had never occurred to me before during the many times I have seen this episode. It seems strange to me that April's mother would be okay with not just her teenage daughter knowing that she had unprotected sex with three different men around the same time, but also the school (teachers and other students) knowing this as well. This seems more like a private matter but know one bats an eye or questions this. Personally I don't know if I would be comfortable having my sexual experiences on display at my daughter's school (or any public place for that matter).

Plus, teenagers can be really cruel sometimes. I would think that sharing this type of information publicly could lead to April dealing with comments/bullying about her mother.

  2. A comment on the Prodigal Daughter Returns:
Like everyone else, I loved the scene between Lorelai and Emily on the plane and especially Lorelai's line that Emily didn't lose her. That line has even more of an impact when you contrast it with a scene from early on in the show. I finally remembered which moment it was: In Rory's Dance after Rory has spent the night out with Dean and Lorelai and Emily are fighting because Emily says Rory will get pregnant and Lorelai will lose her, just like she lost her. Lorelai answers that Emily would have lost her even if she hadn't gotten pregnant because she had nothing, no life growing up in that house, but things are different with her and Rory. It's such a small line, in a way, but it really shows how much their relationship has changed over the last few years, even though there have been a lot of ups and downs and they just went through a pretty big down. And yet, Lorelai is now at a place where she can and does tell her mother that she hasn't lost her. She's already on her way out, but it's important to say it before leaving.

We have now reached the point in the show where I don't know all of the english episode titles anymore because both on the box set as well as in the dvd menu, I only see the german titles. My first thought when you announced this one was: There are two thanksgiving episodes?! Yeah, not a favourite even though there are quite a few scenes I like. The Zach stuff drags it down a lot overall.

I don't like how Rory is treating Emily and Richard right now. It's really unfair. She came crying to them to help her and they did nothing but support her over the last few months. Yes, things got a little intense and overbearing in the end, but Rory is an adult who chose to put herself in that situation. I love that Lorelai shuts her down immediately when she's complaining how terrible it was as if their experiences are at all comparable. And now she's cutting them off completely. The grandparents paying for Yale was also her idea alone and she made the deal. Does she plan on telling them about Chris paying now or will they have to find out on their own?

I feel like Rachel was supposed to have been with Luke around the same time he was with Anna now, no? I suppose they forgot about Rachel.
