  1. I want to punch Logan in his smarmy little face, so as far as first impressions go, this is not a great one. And that stupid master and commander line? Ugh.

After last week's conversation and the fact that Rory and Dean haven't spoken since, her "I don't know if I have a boyfriend" is really weird. Sure, it's complicated and she's not sure where they stand, but at that very moment, they are definitely not together, so her genuinely not knowing is a strange reaction. At least her skirt is very pretty.

Another one of my favourite Paris lines: No, Rory, this great man was not brought down by my vagina. (Can you say that on the podcast? I don't know how weird the itunes rules are.)

  2. I'm going to point/counterpoint Mareike here...

I LOVE LOGAN! Were there other things that happened in this episode? *swoon*

  3. Was anyone else creeped out by the way Logan talks with his hands? Every time he gestures at Rory, he’s about half an inch from physically touching her chest, which is just way too close. I would be so uncomfortable if someone did that while they were talking to me, especially someone I just met. I guess it works for the character, though, since it does add to that sense of entitlement and lack of empathy Logan and his buddies have going on. I just wanted to slap their stupid faces for acting like Marty is beneath them because he has to work hard for his money.

I love the scene where Lorelai walks into the diner wearing nothing but Luke’s shirt. This is one of those quintessential Gilmore Girls moments that has always stuck in my mind, and it’s definitely my favourite moment of the episode.

Poor Emily. Is going out at 7:30 at night another one of those things that only prostitutes do?

What is Rory thinking? Why in the world would you go see nasty Dean when you have a perfectly adorable Marty to hang out with? Why, Rory? Why must you do this to us?

  4. Alright I see that Logan is going to need some further defending on here since I don't know what way Cordia and Celeste are going to land on here.

Logan's attitude is absolutely self-assured and cavalier. This is a guy with some confidence, absolutely. Some people are going to be turned off by confidence, I recognize this. This confidence also is somehow especially heinous because he has money - continuing Gilmore Girls ongoing theme that rich people are terrible. Logan stops and talks to Marty. He reprimands his friend for being rude. Logan is in his twenties, and he calls out his friend for being rude. Did you have the self confidence to do that in your twenties? I barely have the ability to do that now, and I am about as adult as its possible to get now. It's impressive that Logan has the ability to not only withstand peer pressure, but he goes beyond that - he is the leader and he calls his "underlings" out.
