  1. There are a lot of people who hate season 7 and I am not one of them. The season feels a bit different in places, in a way that I still can't quite put my finger on, except for like more close ups of people's faces and stuff like that. People pretend like ASP could do no wrong, almost, and whatever happened to Gilmore Girls after she left, could only be terrible, and that French Twist is the worst thing that ever happened to this show. Because of the circumstances and the reputation this season has, I think it's almost impossible to seperate the discussion from the what ifs and the comparison with what ASP had done before, would have done with the final season and will have done in the revival.

To me, the second half of season 6 is so much worse than season 7 and it is the reason for a lot of the problems this season had. They had to do a lot of clean up and deal with the fall out, especially from Lorelai breaking off the engagement with Luke and sleeping with Chris. I am very curious how ASP would have continued after that cliffhanger, or if it had happened at all if she had stayed. As I've said many times, I like the idea of what they did with Lorelai and Chris, marriage and all, but, as was also discussed at length on the podcast, the execution was mostly terrible. It was also a much more intersting story than if it had only been a one night stand.

A lot of people also seem to be upset that the kiss in the finale was all we got of Luke and Lorelai back together and that we didn't get to see a wedding. I realized that I really don't need to see these to get married and it was enough for me. They needed the time apart to heal and grow and find their way back together and I think, this season did a good job with that.

Logan went back and forth several times between perfect boyfriend and terrible boyfriend, so I wasn't a fan of that. What I did really enjoy was Rory's final year at college and all the ups and downs of her preparing to go out into the world and trying to find a job.

We know now how ASP wanted to end this show, and honestly, I'm glad she didn't get to do it back then, even if it had happened after season 8. I am really happy and feel satisfied with how things ended for everyone, it fits with what I think this show is. Unlike ASP's ending.
